Tag Kit Arrival Date Estimator
Type the date tags must be on site and four allowances: proof and revision, production, carrier transit and receiving. The Panel Tag Co estimator counts backward, skipping weekends, to the ship date. It models no holidays, customs holds or carrier cutoffs. Take the durations from a current written quote, not from memory.
Build your plan
Enter durations from a current written quote and carrier service. Weekends are skipped; holidays, customs delays and carrier cutoffs are not modeled. A zero allowance means you explicitly allow no time for that stage.
The decision behind an equipment identification batch
Count each physical tag from the approved equipment schedule. Identifiers that look similar can belong to different assets, so preserve case, punctuation and leading zeros. Separate blank spare stock from fully marked replacement tags, and keep substrate, attachment and technical legend approval with the responsible project contact.
Keep with your brief: Exact identifier, legend, finished dimensions, substrate and hole positions.

Work back from a Friday arrival
The illustrative arrival is Friday, October 30, 2026. Allow two business days for receiving, four for transit, five for production and two for proof review. These are sample allowances, not our lead-time promise or a carrier estimate.

- Confirmed production duration (business days)

Load these inputs in the tool aboveUnderstand what the result means
Arrival − receiving allowance − transit − production − proof review, subtracting entered weekday counts
The dispatch date is an arithmetic checkpoint, not a booked collection. If the carrier, production team or receiving contact cannot support a stage, revise that allowance and calculate again. For an international order, agree who supplies import information and receives carrier questions before approving the dispatch plan.
When must a kit ship to be ready for energization?
A site electrical supervisor has a switchboard energization planned and wants every label fitted beforehand. He sets the required arrival as the day his crew starts fitting tags, which is earlier than the energization itself. The kit is a set of Custom Electrical Panel Tags plus Custom Legend & Switch Plates for the control section. He enters the production and transit durations from the Panel Tag Co quote, a receiving allowance for site stores and a proof allowance for the client's engineer. The estimator gives a ship date and a proof start date. The proof start is earlier than the next drawing issue, so he asks which rows are safe to freeze now.
Check these details before using the result
- Using energization day as arrival
- Enter the day fitting starts. Tags that turn up on energization day are fitted in a hurry, or not at all.
- Zero receiving allowance at a large plant
- Goods-in, inspection and internal delivery take time at big sites. A zero means you accept none for that stage.
- Borrowing transit from a different address
- Transit to a remote plant is not transit to a city panel shop. Use the figure quoted for the delivery address.

Equipment Panel Tag Set
Start with the approved panel schedule and match every printed identifier to it. Provide label sizes, attachment and exposure requirements; the set identifies equipment and does not verify the electrical design or circuit information supplied.

Custom Electrical Panel Tags
Provide exact dimensions and the approved text for each tag. Keep voltage, circuit and safety wording tied to the responsible team's records, and distinguish a general identification tag from any regulated warning label.

Machine & Equipment Nameplates
Specify whether the plate supplements an existing manufacturer nameplate or replaces a damaged custom label. Reproduce only verified data, and provide exposure and mounting details before selecting the material or adhesive.

Pipe & Valve Identification Tags
Use the approved identifier and service wording, with attachment chosen for the actual valve or pipe. State heat, moisture and chemical exposure; the custom tag should not substitute for required pipe-marking specifications.

Control Cabinet & PLC Labels
Preserve punctuation and capitalization where they distinguish device names. Provide the final label schedule and available space, and have the responsible technical team verify the mapping before production.

Does the estimator hold a production slot or book freight?
No. It is date arithmetic on your own entries. It contacts nobody and reserves nothing. If the dates look workable, send them with your schedule and quote request, and the written quote confirms the production start and the shipping service.
What can be changed if the tag ship date is too late?
Shorten what you control. Freeze the final rows and proof them first, name one approver, or deliver to the panel shop instead of the site. Rush production can be requested. Since production takes no more than 7 days, the proof and receiving stages are usually where a tag order gains time.
Which buying guide should you read next?
All buying guidesCompares two published facility electrical identification specifications side by side to show that nameplate colors differ by owner, then lists exactly what to send so engraved tags match your own specification. Panel Tag Co engraves to the specification you supply and makes no code-compliance claim.
Protect the exact identifier through spreadsheet import, export, proof and packing while separating engraving text from quantities and refusing to reconstruct lost digits without an authoritative schedule.
Count unique legends, physical copies and installation kits separately. Preserve identifiers as text and attach the approved drawing revision, dimensions and mounting detail to each group. Split the packing schedule by panel or site without changing the source identifiers.
A replacement plate needs a complete mounting pattern as well as its outside dimensions. Preserve the original units, hole references and approved drawing.

Quantity Calculator
Total the tags for a batch of identical assemblies by entering units, plates per unit, shared labels and the spares you choose.
Budget Estimator
Total a labeling budget from your own figures: plate quantity, quoted unit cost, setup charges, shipping and any tax or duty.
Engraving Text Length Checker
Paste a legend and see each line's character count against a limit you set, so long service descriptions are caught early.
