Industrial Panel Tags · Free planning resource
Tag Order Timeline Planner
Enter the required arrival date and a duration for each stage: proof, production, transit and receiving. The Panel Tag Co planner works backward and shows when each stage must start, skipping weekends. Holidays and plant closures need extra allowance. The output is a plan to manage against, and it reserves no production capacity.
Build your plan
Work backwards from arrival using your entered stage durations. Weekends are skipped; holidays and closures require extra allowance. Dates describe a plan, not reserved production capacity.
The decision behind an equipment identification batch
Count each physical tag from the approved equipment schedule. Identifiers that look similar can belong to different assets, so preserve case, punctuation and leading zeros. Separate blank spare stock from fully marked replacement tags, and keep substrate, attachment and technical legend approval with the responsible project contact.
Keep with your brief: Exact identifier, legend, finished dimensions, substrate and hole positions.

Begin proof review = required arrival minus all entered stage allowances, counting weekdays only
Use the first date as a prompt to have a complete brief and an available approver. It is not a reason to start irreversible work with missing measurements. If the dates are impractical, discuss a simpler format, a different presentation plan or revised timing before authorizing the order.
How does a commissioning lead fit tags into the program?
A commissioning lead has a tag kit on the program as one bar with no detail. She opens the planner and enters the date installers need the Bulk Industrial Tag Kit, then the durations from her quote. Four start dates come back: proof, production, transit, receiving. She compares the proof start with the drawing register. The valve schedule is due to be reissued after that date, but the panel schedules are already at their final revision. So the kit is split on the program into two bars. Panel and cabinet labels are proofed on the first date. Valve tags follow the reissue, on a second run of the planner with its own dates.
Check these details before using the result
- Planning against a draft tag schedule
- Check the drawing register before fixing the proof date. A proof started on a schedule about to be reissued is work done twice.
- No allowance for the client's engineer
- If the client's engineer must approve legends, their review belongs inside the proof duration you enter.
- Reading the stage dates as a booking
- The planner reserves nothing. Production starts on the date identified in the written quote.

Equipment Panel Tag Set
Start with the approved panel schedule and match every printed identifier to it. Provide label sizes, attachment and exposure requirements; the set identifies equipment and does not verify the electrical design or circuit information supplied.

Custom Electrical Panel Tags
Provide exact dimensions and the approved text for each tag. Keep voltage, circuit and safety wording tied to the responsible team's records, and distinguish a general identification tag from any regulated warning label.

Machine & Equipment Nameplates
Specify whether the plate supplements an existing manufacturer nameplate or replaces a damaged custom label. Reproduce only verified data, and provide exposure and mounting details before selecting the material or adhesive.

Pipe & Valve Identification Tags
Use the approved identifier and service wording, with attachment chosen for the actual valve or pipe. State heat, moisture and chemical exposure; the custom tag should not substitute for required pipe-marking specifications.

Control Cabinet & PLC Labels
Preserve punctuation and capitalization where they distinguish device names. Provide the final label schedule and available space, and have the responsible technical team verify the mapping before production.

Why use the planner when the arrival estimator has identical inputs?
The estimator gives one answer, the ship date. The planner gives a start date per stage, which is what a program needs. Each date can carry an owner: who approves the proof, who receives the parcel, who issues kits to the installers.
How should a later schedule revision be planned?
As its own small order. Run the planner again with the date the revised tags are needed and send only the changed rows, quoting the earlier order reference. Panel Tag Co can then match the layout already approved, and the two revisions stay traceable.
Which buying guide should you read next?
All buying guidesCompares two published facility electrical identification specifications side by side to show that nameplate colors differ by owner, then lists exactly what to send so engraved tags match your own specification. Panel Tag Co engraves to the specification you supply and makes no code-compliance claim.
Protect the exact identifier through spreadsheet import, export, proof and packing while separating engraving text from quantities and refusing to reconstruct lost digits without an authoritative schedule.
Count unique legends, physical copies and installation kits separately. Preserve identifiers as text and attach the approved drawing revision, dimensions and mounting detail to each group. Split the packing schedule by panel or site without changing the source identifiers.
A replacement plate needs a complete mounting pattern as well as its outside dimensions. Preserve the original units, hole references and approved drawing.

Quantity Calculator
Total the tags for a batch of identical assemblies by entering units, plates per unit, shared labels and the spares you choose.
Budget Estimator
Total a labeling budget from your own figures: plate quantity, quoted unit cost, setup charges, shipping and any tax or duty.
Engraving Text Length Checker
Paste a legend and see each line's character count against a limit you set, so long service descriptions are caught early.
